Always Striving to be Better Than Yesterday!
Always Striving to be Better Than Yesterday!
I, LaTara Hart, LOTR, MOT, founded this newly systematized organization in June 2018. As a top honor graduate of Jena High School c/o 2007, I decided to further my education by attending and graduating from the University of La. at Monroe as a Licensed Occupational Therapist. My family and I have since transitioned to life in Dallas, TX where we have been blessed beyond measure. In honor of my success, A Town of Dreamers and Believers, Inc. (ToDaB) has been created.
It has always been our hope of giving back to the community and inspiring the youth to follow their dreams no matter the adversity they may face. Our mission is to empower the youth and community of Jena, La, as well as the surrounding areas, to ensure that they are receiving the necessary educational, spiritual and mental resources needed for success.
With the help of a well-built team, we are on a mission to make a beneficial change that will allow our youth the ability to dream freely and maximize their prosperity. Our goal is to build a long lasting, reliable organization that our youth and community members can rely on to assist our children on their path to success. We will be focused on providing information and referral to educational programs, life skills workshops, mentorship programs, mental health support and community beautification projects. A Town of Dreamers and Believers, Inc. helps individuals’ triumph over adversity and develop strategies to confront issues, improve their lives, and build a better future for themselves and their families. We believe that with the support of our community, we will become a relied upon resource for our entire town.
Are you interested in becoming apart of our amazing team or just looking to give back to your community through volunteer work here and there? We are always accepting extra hands for community events. Contact one of our board members to find out more.

ToDaB has hosted several events aiming to provide resources to the youth and community. The first annual kick-off event offered educational, mental and employment resources while our Angel Tree Event will provide Christmas gifts to the less fortunate.
Our mentor program has been designed to encourage and support mutually beneficially, long-standing relationships between adult role models and children. With the official launch taking place in Spring 2019, we plan to offer dedicated, motivated, and inspiring mentors for children ages 6-18.
Scholarships will be available to incoming freshman who meet preliminary requirements including organizational involvement. Members of the mentor program will automatically meet certain qualifications through community involvement. Scholarship information and application will be available upon request.
